Ms. Maitin spent approximately 18 years in the field of Human Resources, having started her career in a public health institution as a registered professional nurse. She also taught a variety of undergraduate courses at Witwatersrand University in her capacity as a Tutor and Lecturer between 1998 and 2000. In 2002, she registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in the category of Industrial Psychologist.

Tryphina completed her internship with the Military Psychology Institute before joining Edcon as the Regional Assessment Manager and later as Consulting Psychologist for the Edcon Group of companies. She headed recruitment and selection at Absa and the South African Reserve Bank, before joining BMW as General Manager: Human Resources Operations between 2008 and 2012/13. Her last two positions (Executive: Human Resources Operations) were at Mercedes Benz SA and Vodacom (Vodacom Enterprise Business). Tryphina is well experienced in the areas of industrial psychology and Human Capital Management.
